Objectifs :
The proposed training aims to improve the managerial skills of the participants, based on their experiences, including those encountered as part of their thesis (supervised by the thesis director, trainee supervisor) and by providing them with the knowledge, tools and techniques adapted to their PhD and future management functions.

Programme :
The training is divided in four sessions of 3.5 hours followed by a session one week later to precise and discuss specific points of interest.

- Friday March, 7th morning and afternoon 9h-12h30 and 14h-17h30
- Monday March, 10th morning, 9h-12h30
- Tuesday March, 11th morning, 9h-12h30
- Tuesday March, 18th morning. 9h-12h30

Introduction: assessment of the participants' expectations about the training, in order to adapt it.
The training is divided into three main modules.

MODULE 1: A GUIDE FOR MANAGERS
1. DEFINITION OF PROXIMITY MANAGEMENT
- The functions of management
- Roles to be performed and skills to be possessed
2. SELF-DIAGNOSIS OF THE MANAGERIAL PROFILE
- Identification of one's management style
- Analysis of one's profile: strengths and weaknesses
3. ORGANISING AND SUPPORTING THE WORK: THE BASICS OF THE OF THE MANAGEMENT POSITION
- Rules and charters
- Negotiating targets
- Monitoring and controlling activities

MODULE 2: THE MANAGER AND HIS/HER STAFF
1. ADAPTING TO EACH EMPLOYEE
- Situational management
- The employee's point of view
2. SUPPORTING EMPLOYEE MOTIVATION
- Theories and tools concerning motivation
- Motivation as a result of management
- Direct and indirect positive signs of recognition
3. THE TEAM CONCEPT
- What is a team?
- The four levers for energising a team (information, relationship, collective action, cohesion)

MODULE 3: THE TOOLS AVAILABLE TO THE MANAGER
1. GENERAL PRINCIPLES OF PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION
- The fundamental laws governing interpersonal communication
- Behaviours to be encouraged
- Techniques for improving communication
- In the framework of this module, the application of each of the techniques will be proposed, in different situations to be chosen by the group (see below)
2. INTERVIEWS WITH EMPLOYEES
- Recruitment
- Integration of a new employee
- The particular case of remote communication
3. LEADING MEETINGS
- The different types of meetings
- The different methods of facilitation
4. PROBLEM MANAGEMENT
- The 6 steps of problem solving
- The DESC method for managing a problem


Méthode pédagogique :
Different pedagogical techniques will be used, such as subgroup and plenary exercises and plenary groups, role plays, exercises and role plays, case studies and self-diagnosis tests.
They will allow each participant to better evaluate him/herself, to better grasp the concepts, to integrate the tools and techniques through direct application. The pedagogical methods used during the training are agile and respond to the four fundamental values of the Agile manifesto. We focus on individuals (here the trainees) and their interactions rather than on processes and interactions rather than processes and tools (or techniques a priori), 2) we focus on the operational, by systematically making the link with practices and by using case studies or scenarios rather than exhaustive documentation 3) we adopt a collaborative attitude, whether with the trainees (link with the trainees during the intersession) and 4) we adapt the content of the training to the needs and expectations (rather than following an exact plan).


Compétences acquises à l'issue de la formation :
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to :
Know the issues and concepts of the management function,
Implement an operational and optimised management within their (future) team
- by a better control of their communication within the framework of meetings, individual interviews and interpersonal relations
- by a better ability to mobilise their staff and ensure the cohesion of their team by generating the team's support for a project and by putting in place organisational actions and operating rules adapted to their employees
- by better prevention and management of tensions and conflicts

Bloc 6 : Encadrement d’équipes dédiées à des activités de recherche et développement, d’études et prospective

- Animer et coordonner une équipe dans le cadre de taches complexes ou interdisciplinaires

- Repérer les compétences manquantes au sein d’une équipe et participer au recrutement ou à la sollicitation de prestataires

- Construire les démarches nécessaires pour impulser l’esprit d’entrepreneuriat au sein d’une équipe

- Identifier les ressources clés pour une équipe et préparer les évolutions en termes de formation et de développement personnel

- Evaluer le travail des personnes et de l’équipe vis à vis des projets et objectifs
