Objectifs :
Adopt efficient strategies to favour a comprehensive or selective reading method based on need. Position yourself in an efficient position for predetermined results.
• Playback Speed:
- Effective visual field enlargement,
- Optimised circulation of the line,
- Reflection on ergonomic posture in reading situations.
• Reading quality:
- Determine the objectives, importance and structure of the text,
- Elements of structural analysis of texts (all types) in order to understand and anticipate movements. A specific work will be done on administrative texts in order to learn to extract with precision the information.
- Learn different reading methods (from integral to skim, key words).
- Increase the power of reading in order to keep your mind free, by acquiring teaching tools best suited to the optimization of technical and professional readings, but also personal.

Programme :
The 1 day program consist of:
• A look at your individual reading habits and representations
• Analysis of reading as process (mechanisms and strategies)
• Practical, progressive, measurable exercises designed to foster long-lasting improvement in reading skills in terms of:
speed / comprehension / retention
• Individual assessment and progress tracking in gaining speed
• Consideration of specific features of reading:
English language
scientific texts
• Discussion of the specific objectives of reading and learning for doctoral students writing au thesis
• Examination of principles and strategies for managing your reading load (handling texts, time management…)
• Study of memory and retention, including a review of note-taking methods
• Establishing personal goals

: English speaking

Méthode pédagogique :
- Analyse individual reading practices, know the mechanisms of deciphering and assimilating information, develop personal objectives. The method applies to all types of texts.
- Acquire greater methodological rigour and an effective and fluid reading practice, to develop personal potential in quantity (number of signs read) and quality (deciphering, analysis, memorization...).


Compétences acquises à l'issue de la formation :
At the end of the course, students should be able to:
- Cleary understand and define the different methods and stages of scientific mediation.
- Air and positively address negative emotions, fears, and doubts with the goal of being effectively heard and understood when sharing scientific results to wider audiences, especially orally but also through other means (written, videos, the arts…).
- Identify the elements of specific scientific controversies and their elements (controversy issues, actors, clashing interests and values, context, and backgrounds) and to listen to criticism and complaints without becoming defensive.
- Increase their ability and disposition to brainstorm solutions that would satisfy all parties involved.
- Foster a welcoming environment where people of all backgrounds (academic and non-academic) feel comfortable so as conflict can be positively managed.
