Objectifs : The aim of this course is:
- to improve the students’ level of French
- to understand the codes of the French culture
- to facilitate the integration in Grenoble
This course is highly recommended to new incoming PhDs students.
Programme : A 9 weeks duration French course that is totally online based (classes and tests). The levels proposed are A1 (beginners), A2 and B1, for a total of 24 hours.
The course is accessible 10/10 from France and abroad, and requires approximately 3 hours of work per week.

Caution : You will have to complete each module on time, which duration is 2 weeks each. After the 2 weeks, you won’t be able to access to it anymore !
At the end of the course, you will get French level certificate from the CUEF.
The course is coordinated by the Collège Doctoral, and proposed by the Centre Universitaire d’Études Française (CUEF) of the Université Grenoble Alpes.
Pré-requis : Priority will be given to PhDs enrolled in the 1st year and/or PhDs with no knowledge of French language.
The course is open to all non-French speaking PhD students enrolled in the first and second year, as well as the PhD students with a cotutelle agreement.
Levels available: A1, A2 and B1
Equipe pédagogique : Isabelle Marchionini (CUEF - UGA)
Méthode pédagogique : Self-learning method using Moodle, email account, tutoring forum, news and extra activities.
A teaching and a technical tutor will be available for students throughout the whole duration of the course.
Compétences acquises à l'issue de la formation : Understanding and use of everyday life French.
Ability to cope with realistic situations.
